Feather bowling is a dying past-time in Belgium. Most people from the old country are surprised that Cadieux Cafe preserves the game so well. The origins to the game are unknown. It is similar to Bocci and horseshoes.
How to Play Feather Bowling:
Players must be divided into two teams, the red team and the green team. A coin is flipped to see who will go first. Whatever team wins the flip gets to throw all six of its rocks down a sixty foot lane with the goals of getting as close to a feather planted into the ground as possible. A common strategy for teams is to create blockers with their rocks. They essentially build a wall with the cheese-wheel shaped rocks. The team with the most rocks closest to the feather wins. A team has the ability to score one point minimum and six points maximum per round. The game is over when a team reaches ten points first.
I, unfortunately, could not get a lane reserved. I was able to watch two groups play their rounds of feather bowling. It was quite fun. I would love to try it sometime.
